Hair extensions: various types based on manufacturing and application method

It's common knowledge that hair extensions are the new style symbol for people of all age groups and from all walks of life. Irrespective of whether one is a student, a working professional or a celebrity, everyone is trying out new and novel hair extensions, in the hopes of getting the right kind of hairstyle that accentuates his/her overall personality. Over the past decade, the popularity of hair extension has grown multifold, this is a far cry away from a couple of decades ago, when hair extensions were universally thought ( by both medical professionals as well as the general populace) of as having long lasting damaging effects to the hair. Nowadays, a majority of hair stylists prefer hair extensions for giving their clients what they want, an ideal look which makes them the envy of everyone nearby.

Hritik Exim is a Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India based organization that is engaged in manufacturing and supplying of a wide range of hair extensions. The organization's product range encompasses machine weft hair, blonde hair extensions, double drawn hair, water wave wigs and many more. Renowned for the emphasis it puts on always maintaining optimal product quality, the organization has a diverse clientele spread across India and overseas.

Real hair extensions and synthetic hair extensions :-

Based on the manufacturing method, there are primarily two types of hair extensions

  • Real hair extensions – The term real hair extensions indicate extensions that have been made only using real human hair. The human hair is collected from various sources such as voluntary donors, salons etc.
  • Synthetic hair extensions – The term synthetic hair extensions denote extensions that are generally made from innumerable synthetic and blended fibers and contain absolutely no human hair.

Out of the two aforementioned hair extensions, real hair extensions are more widely used owing to the fact that they are more long lasting, smooth and are much easier to attach to a person's natural hair. Moreover, the problem with synthetic hair extensions is that sometimes they can easily be differentiated from a person's natural hair, leading to bad hair issues and worse still, public embarrassment. Right from the people using these hair extensions to hair stylists, everyone prefers real hair extensions.

Different types of hair extensions based on their application method

Hair extensions can be attached to a person's natural hair through various methods, some of these methods are mentioned below :-

  • Tape-In hair extensions – In this application method, the hair extensions are taped or glued together to a person's natural hair. The tape in method is a very common method of attaching hair extensions and is one of the most preferred ones by hair stylists.

  • Sew-in hair extensions – In this application method, the natural hair is braided into a corn row first and afterwards attached using a thread and needle. This method is ideal for people who have naturally thicker hair.

  • Fusion application method – In this method, adhesives such as glue are used for attaching the extensions to natural hair. This application method requires 3-4 hours and more importantly is not suitable for everyone.

  • Micro link hair extension application method – In this application method, the hair extensions are looped in through a person's natural hair and afterwards clamped with a special tool and a ring.

  • Wigs & hair pieces – These are generally used to cover a much larger part of the head than other hair extensions and are applied to the hair topically.
